Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Convo App LLC (“Convo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use the Convo mobile app and the website at convo.ai(together, the “Service”).
Convo is an AI companion app. The Service includes voice-based conversations with AI-generated characters, the ability to create custom companions using voice and likeness samples, and a history of your conversations. Please read this policy carefully — by using Convo, you agree to the practices described here.
1. The nature of AI companions
Convo's companions are AI-generated characters. They are not real people, they do not have real feelings, and they do not provide professional advice of any kind.
- Everything a companion says is fictional. Responses are generated by large language models and may include made-up facts, opinions, or claims. Do not rely on anything a companion says as factual, medical, legal, financial, psychological, or professional advice.
- Companions are not a substitute for human relationships or professional care. If you are in crisis, experiencing thoughts of self-harm, or need medical or mental-health support, please contact a qualified human professional or a crisis line in your region (in the US: dial or text 988).
- Do not take a companion's words seriously as instructions.Never act on a companion's advice in a way that could harm you, someone else, or your property.
- Convo may apply safety filters and content moderation to reduce harmful output, but no system is perfect. If you see something unsafe, please report it to support@disruptlogic.com.
2. Information we collect
a. Account information
When you create an account, we may collect your email address, username, date of birth (for age gating), authentication tokens, and any profile information you provide.
b. Conversation content
We collect the content of your conversations with companions — including text transcripts, voice recordings, and media you send or receive — so that we can deliver the Service, maintain conversation history, and improve quality and safety.
c. Voice clones & likeness inputs
If you use features that create a custom companion, we collect the voice samples, portrait images, names, and personality descriptions you upload. These inputs are used to produce the companion you are creating and are treated as sensitive content.
d. Device and usage data
We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including device type, operating system, language, crashes, feature usage, and approximate location derived from IP address.
e. Purchases and subscriptions
If you subscribe or make in-app purchases, the transaction is processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. We may receive limited subscription status information to grant or revoke entitlements.
f. Children
Convo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@disruptlogic.com and we will delete it.
3. Face data
Convo's custom companion feature uses your device camera to capture a facial image (“face data”) so that a companion can visually represent you or a character you create. Face data is treated as a special category of sensitive information and is handled as follows:
- We do not retain face data. Face data captured through Convo is used solely to generate the visual representation of the companion you are creating. It is not persistently stored on our servers, is not used to build a biometric template, is not used to identify you, and is not used for any purpose beyond producing the companion you explicitly requested.
- Face data is not used for AI training. We do not include face data in any dataset used to train or improve our models or any third-party model.
- Face data is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising or analytics. We share it only with the specific service providers described below, and only for the purpose of producing your requested companion.
Third parties and face data
To generate companion visuals, Convo sends face data to a small number of vetted third-party AI model and image-generation providers. We require, by contract, that each of these providers:
- Receive only the minimum face data necessary to perform the requested transformation;
- Do not retain face data after the request has been processed — face data is processed transiently and discarded;
- Do not store a biometric template, do not attempt to identify any individual, and do not use face data to train models;
- Do not reuse face data for any secondary purpose, including advertising, analytics, or resale.
Because our providers do not store face data, there is no additional retention period at the provider level to disclose. If any provider we use changes its practices such that face data would be stored, we will update this policy, notify you in the app, and give you the opportunity to opt out before the new practice takes effect.
Your control over face data
You can delete a companion at any time from inside the app. Because we do not retain face data on our servers, deleting a companion immediately removes any face-derived assets associated with it. You can also decline the selfie capture step entirely — face data is optional and is only collected when you actively choose to use the face-based companion feature.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Generate companion responses, voice synthesis, and personalized memory within a conversation;
- Support custom companion creation (voice, likeness, name, bio);
- Monitor, detect, and prevent abuse, fraud, harassment, illegal activity, or violations of our Terms;
- Improve the quality and safety of our AI models, including through human review of flagged content where appropriate;
- Send you transactional communications about your account, and — with your consent — product updates;
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. AI training and model improvement
By default, we may use de-identified, aggregated conversation data and feedback signals to improve model quality and safety. Where your settings or applicable law allow you to opt out of model training on your content, you can do so in Settings → Privacy → AI Training inside the app.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your private conversation content for third-party advertising.
6. Voice & likeness: your responsibilities
When you create a custom companion using someone's voice, face, or likeness, you represent and warrant that:
- The voice or likeness is yours, or
- You have the explicit consent of the person whose voice or likeness you are using, and
- You will not use Convo to impersonate, harass, defraud, or harm any person, or to generate sexual content involving a real person without their express consent (and never involving minors).
Violating these rules may result in removal of your companion, account suspension, and/or legal action. We honor takedown requests from individuals whose voice or likeness has been used without consent — email support@disruptlogic.com.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: vendors that help us operate the Service (cloud hosting, AI model providers, voice synthesis, analytics, crash reporting, customer support) under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing the service.
- Legal and safety: if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.
- With your consent: for any other purpose you expressly agree to.
8. Data retention & deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete specific conversations from within the app at any time.
You may request deletion of your entire account and associated data by emailing support@disruptlogic.com or using the in-app delete option. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain for legal or security reasons.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information in transit and at rest, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring. No system is 100% secure; if we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with comparable laws), you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your personal information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Receive a portable copy of your data;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@disruptlogic.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. International transfers
Convo is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US or in other countries where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
12. Third-party services
Convo may link to or integrate with third-party services (e.g., the App Store, AI model providers, analytics). This policy does not cover those third parties' practices; please review their privacy policies separately.
13. Screenshots and marketing materials
Screenshots, videos, and other visual depictions of the Convo app on this website (convo.ai), in the App Store listing, or in any marketing material are provided for illustrative purposes only. They may not reflect the current user interface, exact flows, companion availability, or specific copy used inside the app at any given time.
Convo is actively developed. Features, design, companions, and behavior may change, be added, or be removed without notice. The authoritative version of the app is always the most recent build available on the App Store.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of Convo after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

A note on AI safety
Convo is designed to be a supportive, entertaining, and creative space. It is not a therapist, doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, or emergency service. Companions can be wrong, can hallucinate, and can produce content that does not reflect the views of Convo or any real person. Please treat every conversation as fiction — and take care of yourself and the people around you first.
